Sarah is the founder and owner of Next Step Success. She works one on one with clients as a Benefits Planner and Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor.

Sarah has over 11 years of experience working with individuals with disabilities providing benefits planning and employment support services. She worked for state agencies, non-profits, and in the private sector before starting Next Step Success in January 2020. She has extensive experience in providing case management, guidance and counseling, job readiness skills, Social Security benefits planning and financial education.

She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in both Criminal Justice and Psychology and a Master of Science degree in Clinical Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling. Sarah is a Certified Work Incentives Practitioner through Cornell University and holds the Community Partner Work Incentives Practitioner Certification through Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU). She is a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor through the Commission on Rehabilitation Counselor Certification (CRCC).

Sarah is an active member of NABWIS, the National Association for Benefits and Work Incentive Specialists, as well as a past President of the Virginia chapter of the National Rehabilitation Association.

When not serving her clients, Sarah loves to travel and see new places, read (mostly fantasy and sci-fi!) and play recreational sports.

Bethany joined Next Step Success, LLC in 2021 after 15 years in Orthopedics. Her background in healthcare and administration bring unique knowledge and skills to the team that translate well into the field of Vocational Rehabilitation. She earned her certification in Benefits Planning (WIP-C) in 2022 and has been enthusiastically learning more about the field while also helping Next Step Success grow.

Bethany loves helping and empowering other people to reach their goals and improve their situation no matter the platform. In her free time, she loves spending time with family, playing softball and being outside as much as possible.

Megan B.

Employment Specialist

Megan serves as an Employment Specialist for Ticket to Work participants at Next Step Success, LLC. After graduating from Roanoke College, Megan worked in a variety of management roles before finding her calling in the field of disability employment. Megan spent six years as a job coach helping individuals with disabilities and other barriers to employment find and maintain jobs, which cemented her passion and dedication to providing quality supports and services for her clients. She prides herself in creating a comforting environment and in providing individualized services that best help folks reach their own unique goals. Megan believes that with the right support, anyone can achieve their employment and financial goals. She delights in the opportunity to celebrate these successes alongside them!

In her free time, Megan enjoys spending quality time with friends, spoiling her dog, attending concerts, conquering jigsaw puzzles, and indulging in TV show marathons.

Administrative Assistant

Karen is a dedicated administrative assistant at Next Step Success, LLC. During the week, you can observe Karen answering phone calls, responding to emails, and scheduling clients. Karen is a caring, passionate individual who ensures every current and future client receives the utmost attention. She has a strong sense of dedication to helping those with disabilities, as she herself has faced her own barriers. These experiences gave her a deep appreciation and understanding for everyone’s journey.

Karen values every interaction, seeking to ensure that every individual knows they’re not taking the next step alone. She prides herself on fostering encouragement one phone call at a time. Outside of work, Karen enjoys spending time with her friends and family. She is always open to continuously learning and trying new things.
